At the time, he had just resigned from working for D.E. Shaw. He had brought the idea of an online bookstore to his boss, David E.Shaw, who thought it wasn’t worth the investment. It was then that Jeff Bezos left to start his own online bookstore. This bookstore was Amazon. Since then, it has evolved into what we know as Amazon today. It has only gotten better for Amazon in recent years, especially since lockdown, where everyone has taken to buying online. He currently stands at a massive $177 billion net worth.
